St. Basil's cathedral, situated at one of the short ends of Red Square, is a symbol of Moscow. Ivan the Terrible blinded the architect so he could never build anything like it again.
Here I am being dwarfed by the immensity of Christ the Savior Cathedral,
the lead church in the Moscow Patriarchate.
Christ the Savior was blown up by the Communists and turned into a massive public heated swimming pool.
It was recently rebuilt and can hold 10,000 worshippers.
The golden domes are particularly lovely at sunset.
This is a tiny chapel in front of the entrance to Red Square. A service was going on when I was there so I joined in.
Situated on Red Square, Kazan Cathedral was the home of a very sacred icon, the Virgin of Kazan. Unfortunately this was yet another church destroyed by the Bolsheviks. It was rebuilt in 1990.

My camera died at the Kremlin, so I had to borrow someone else's camera and film to record the Kremlin churches. Once I get those pictures, this page will expand.
